  • Save Time, Save Money
  • Available as High or Low Molecular Weight Kits
  • Lyophilized for long shelf life
  • Characterized by HPLC and Maldi-TOF
Using standards for identification and calibration of separation methods is a cornerstone of State of the Art Protein Chemistry. The MicroSolv Digested Protein Calibration Kits are particularly well suited for method development and validation in most protein or Proteomic applications. Useful for cIEF or CE-MS Applications, they are also very useful for LCMS, MALDI-TOF or GPC. Easy to use and with long shelf life, these standards are available individually, in six packs or in convenient kits for low or high molecular weights.

Complete with instructions on how to dilute and store each standard is lyophilized and supplied in a vial which contains 500 pico-moles of concentrated protein digest that can be easily diluted to standard concentration. Unopened standards have a long shelf life.

Two different, convenient kits are available for calibrating either high or low molecular weight peptide applications or can be used for calibrating instruments.
  • The Low Molecular Weight Kit contains six different vials each containing a different standard ranging from 12 kilo Daltons to 39 kilo Daltons.
  • The High Molecular Weight Kit contains six different vials each containing a different standard ranging from 46 kilo Daltons to 80 kilo Daltons.

How to Reconstitute

Production Background of the MicroSolv Protein Calibration Kits

We begin with the highest purity proteins that are reduced with dithiothreitol (DTT) and alkylated with iodoacetic acid (IAA) prior to Digestion. Using trypsin that is treated with L-(tosylamido-2-phenyl)ethyl chloromethyl ketone (TPCK) allows us to inhibit unwanted, contaminating chymotryptic activity. Monitoring the process by HPLC and Maldi-TOF (actual fragmentation data is supplied with each standard vial) also provides a characterization of each individual standard.

The chemical, physical and toxicological properties of these products have not been thoroughly tested. Vials are individually packed to contain 500 picomoles which should be stored at <0°C.
