MicroSolv's MEKC Buffers utilize the principle of "Inclusion Complexes" with Cyclodextrin of hydrophilic interaction with Micelles. Two enantiomers may form different complexes or spend different amounts of time with the Cyclodextrin and separate based on their different mobilities. Neutral compounds and non-resolved ionic compounds may interact with the charged Micelle and will separate based on different hydrophobicity.

Beta Cyclodextrin is shipped in a sealed vial for easy addition to "basic buffers" by the end user. Add the entire premeasured contents of the CD to the premixed buffer for exact concentrations and to resolve solubility problems of the CD. Lot number, Conductivity and Expiration date printed on the bottle for record keeping purposes.

SDS is a natural surfactant and will form charged micelles. Bile Salts form charged helical micelles and show chiral selectivity. CTAB is similar in structure to SDS but shows different selectivity.
