HPLC Columns Based on TYPE-C™ Silica
Excellent Choice for Hydrophilic Compounds
The Cogent Diamond Hydride™ HPLC column is manufactured starting with ultra high purity Type-B (low metals) silica.
Then using our proprietary manufacturing technology the Type-B silica is converted to TYPE-C™ by forming a silicon
hydride surface. The uniqueness of Diamond Hydride™ is that we then bond a very small amount of carbon to the
surface that adjusts the Hydrophobicity to a small but important level.
These columns are an excellent choice for polar compounds such as amino acids that normally require derivatization to be
retained by reverse phase. Excellent peak shape and retention are accomplished with 0.001% TFA or other acids making it a
favorite of many doing LCMS.
